Apr 14-20: Stargazing, Medieval Fair, Party, and more!
Apple Store Event & Things to do in Berlin - Week of April 14!
Last week, I attended an event at the Apple Store organized by a few community builders. It turned out to be a great experience, with inspiring stories and the chance to meet community members. It looks like more free events are happening at the store:
✨ Fashion meets sustainability: Join the Earth Day panel at Apple Store
Sustainability and fashion: can they really go together? On Wednesday, April 23, four influential voices from Berlin's fashion scene will share practical solutions for a more conscious industry. Moderated by Max Gilgenmann (studio MM04), panelists Ines Rust (DAWN Denim), Marie Wekel (Drip by Drip), and Dörte de Jesus (The Lissome) will explore shared responsibility, conscious consumption, and sustainable production. Register.
The interactive session invites attendees to ask questions and contribute their own ideas. Guests will also connect with others from the scene and discover how Berlin is leading fashion's sustainable transformation. The event will be held in German, but questions in English are welcome. 1. Star Dust Music - Resident Music Collective
⭐ If you have not yet seen the Resident Music Collective perform, their shows are great. I’ve already been twice!
The Resident Music Collective brings together artists who explore the sound of the universe and the idea of star dust, building on themes from the exhibition in_finite. Living with Death, shown at the Humboldt Forum. Sixteen musicians from different traditions respond to these ideas with instruments such as the Turkish ney and the West African balafon. Across cultures, music has long helped deepen emotions, ease pain, guide rituals, and give shape to what cannot be seen. The best part is that you can move freely around the concert hall and do not have to stay seated the whole time. More info.

At the Archenhold Observatory in Treptower Park, you can explore the night sky over Berlin through the largest and oldest public observatory in Germany. Using the Cassegrain reflecting telescope, you can see planets, the moon, and distant objects like stars, nebulae, and galaxies in sharp detail. Experts are available throughout the session to answer your questions and share information about the celestial bodies, the instruments, and the observatory’s history. More info.

Sounding Bodies is an exhibition by Elo Masing and Minna Etein that explores how sound travels through material, space, and the body. An amplified piano wrapped in yarn, suspended threads, and large-scale paintings come together in a sculptural sound installation. The opening features performances by Masing, and Etein, using extended voice and electronics to explore the space’s acoustics. More info.

The traditional Easter Knight Spectaculum at the Spandau Citadel offers a historical market, live music on two stages, theatre, acrobatics, a fire show, and performances. Knight fights on the ground and tournaments on horseback are part of the program, alongside a fire show on horseback. The event brings together elements of medieval fairs and historical performances for visitors interested in knights, tournaments, and medieval traditions. The program.

Most of the collectives are based in Berlin, with each bringing their own approach to music and culture. The goal is to gather a broad mix of crews for one weekend under one roof, creating a space where different parts of the clubbing landscape meet. More info.

Restaurant Suggestion:
Standard Serious Pizza (⭐4/5)
I visited this place once before and was not fully convinced, so I decided to give it another try. The pizzas are good, with quality ingredients and a solid taste. Although I had seen complaints about slow service, we did not experience any delays during our visit. I found the prices to be about 10–15% higher compared to similar places offering the same quality. The restaurant has a few large tables, making it a good option for bigger groups, and there is also an outdoor seating area.
