Aug 04-10: Live Music, Dating Event, Queer Park Festival, and more!
Things to do in Berlin - Week of Aug 04!
I had the chance to spend a week traveling with my parents. Over the years, our relationship has shifted. We’ve become more like friends than just parents and son. If your parents are still around, cherish every moment with them. You never know which one might be the last.

1. Ustad Noor Bakhsh - Live Music
Noor Bakhsh, a traditional musician from Balochistan-Pakistan, brings his distinctive sound to Berlin for one night. He plays the benju, a string instrument with keys, originally a Japanese taishōgoto that made its way to Pakistan through sailors. After a widely praised European tour that included 25 shows, Noor and his musical partner Doshambay continue to draw crowds with a sound that often turns seated listeners into a dancing audience. This performance offers a rare chance to experience live music that bridges regions, traditions, and unexpected rhythms. More info.

Restaurant Suggestion:
WeiDaoJia 味道佳 - Chinese Restaurant (⭐4/5)
This Chinese restaurant offers a wide selection of authentic dishes, including a solid range of Sichuan-style options for those who enjoy spice. The menu is built for sharing, with plates meant to be placed in the center, making it a great spot to visit with a group. Dishes are brought out as they’re ready, so don’t expect everything to arrive at once. As is common with this cuisine, some dishes lean oily, and the menu notes the use of flavor enhancers, though it’s unclear what exactly that refers to. The staff is friendly and helpful, though the place can get busy. Prices are reasonable at around €25 per person with a drink. cash only. Pictured: Sichuan-style beef (€16.90) and ribbon noodles (€14.90).
