Berlin Events Guide - Aug. 18–24: Street Food Festival, Pop-Kultur, Radioeins Parkfest, and more!
Giveaway & Things to do in Berlin - Week of Aug 18!
I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of time behind a screen, and my job is remote, which means I don’t get much physical activity during the day. So when I saw a video of 🔥 flameworking on Instagram, I knew it was a good chance to do something with my hands and get away from the screen. And it ended up being one of the best decisions of my summer!
There is a studio in Monopol Berlin, run by Jason, called Berlin Flameworking Studio. Jason teaches you how to work the torch and shape molten glass into your own unique creations. It’s beginner-friendly, and no prior experience is needed. We spent four hours there without even noticing how quickly the time passed. Check them out!

Restaurant Suggestion:
Slava Berlin! Ukrainian Soulfood & Nalivanki (⭐4/5)
This Ukrainian restaurant is located in Kreuzberg and serves hearty Ukrainian dishes. They have outdoor seating, and you can make reservations. The portions are relatively large and the prices are fair. We tried the vegetarian Borscht (€8.50), which was good, but I prefer the meat version; Nalysnyky with bacon (€12.90), which is very similar to crepes; Pilz Knydli (€12.50), which is a type of dumpling; Kiewer Bulette (€15.90), which reminded me of Cordon Bleu; Wareniki mit Rindfleisch (€15.50), another type of dumpling with a meat filling; and Golubci Chernivtsi (€14.50), which is stuffed cabbage. Most dishes come with a side salad, sauce, or sour cream. If you’re a fan of German food, you’ll probably like Ukrainian food too, as there are quite a few similarities. The staff were nice, and they also accept card payments.
