Shutting Down BEW App & Things to do in Berlin - Week of December 30!

Dear Readers,

After much consideration, I have decided to sunset the Berlin Events Weekly app, as it did not gain the traction I had hoped for. The idea was to provide a free platform for Berliners to connect through Telegram groups, allowing them to attend events together and make the city feel less lonely. We experienced some successes in the beginning, and I had the pleasure of meeting many of you through these groups 😍. However, over time, the momentum faded, and the app has become a source of financial and resource costs without fulfilling its intended purpose.

That being said, the newsletter and Instagram page will continue 💪, and you can still expect to receive the weekly event guide in your inbox every Sunday at 5 PM.

Thank you for all the support and to everyone who initiated hangouts in the Telegram groups—you (and I) know who you are. Stay social, because Berlin needs people like you ❤️.

1. SPÄTIRAVE 030 with Zug der Liebe

The Winter Edition of Späti Rave 030 brings Berlin’s rave scene together with efforts to support homeless aid during the challenging winter months. The event features a lineup of techno artists, a selection of drinks, and opportunities to contribute to donation drives for hygiene products or financial support. 2. Stil vor Talent NYE

Stil vor Talent returns to the heart of Kreuzberg at Sage Beach to celebrate the New Year in style. This multi-floor event features four stages—three indoors and one heated, weatherproof beach area—showcasing a diverse lineup including Oliver Koletzki, Rampue (live), and other talented artists. 3. NYE Drag Show by Duct Tape

On December 31st, Holzmarkt 25 will host a New Year’s Eve drag show featuring dynamic performances by some of the most renowned queens in the scene. The evening will showcase a blend of singing, dancing, and comedy, paired with striking outfits and a celebration of individuality and self-expression. More info.

4. Berlin New Year's Run

Each year, the New Year’s Day run at the Brandenburg Gate brings together around 3,500 participants to start the year with a shared outdoor activity. This event is a casual, untimed run designed for anyone to join and enjoy at their own pace. The four-kilometer route takes participants from the Brandenburg Gate, along Unter den Linden, around the Berlin Cathedral, and back to the starting point. Registration isn’t required—runners and walkers can simply show up and take part. The Route.

🍣 NOVEMBER Brasserie - Japanese Restaurant

November had been on our list for a long time, and we finally got the chance to try it for my birthday! It’s a casual fine dining Japanese restaurant (≈ €100 pp including drinks), requiring reservations 1–1.5 months in advance. The food was absolutely fantastic; the craftsmanship and artistry that went into each dish were evident, and the service was friendly. Here are some of the items we tried:
