Things to do in Berlin - Week of Nov 24!
The other day, I saw a guy waiting to cross the street who bent down to pick up a large piece of stone that had fallen onto the bike lane and moved it aside. He cleared the path even though he wasn’t biking. It really stayed with me and reminded me not to be indifferent to our surroundings.

1. Tehran Contemporary Sounds Festival 2025
Tehran Contemporary Sounds presents the sixth edition of its festival, taking place at Silent Green and Movimento Kino. This edition treats diaspora as a way of listening and creating rather than a fixed identity, inviting artists and audiences to share space across different backgrounds and distances. TCS serves as a Berlin hub for Iranian musicians, visual artists and collectives based both in Iran and abroad, with a focus on collaboration, dialogue and presenting contemporary experimental work. 2. Around the World in 14 Films
Around the World in 14 Films presents a selection of films that offer a global view of contemporary cinema. Over ten days, the festival showcases fourteen works from different regions, including South America, North America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, along with additional special screenings, thematic sections and a German film of the year. All films were previously shown at major international festivals such as Cannes, San Sebastián, Sundance, Toronto and Venice. The program.

3. A Piece of Cake - Live Music
The showcase night brings together a small group of musicians at Mulackei, an intimate venue in Berlin Mitte. Lucie Frank, Mani Simon, Jamie Noone, Andrea Tichy and Elsdeer will perform, supported by A Piece of Cake, a playback pedal used for live sets. A piece of cake is a new music hardware company from Berlin doing things differently. More info.

4. THE BEAR presents MILESTONES
The Bear marks its 100th show and ten years of live storytelling with an evening at Theater im Delphi. Over the past decade more than a thousand Berliners have stepped on stage to share personal moments, and this milestone event brings together six storytellers presenting their stories. The Bear continues to provide a space where people can tell their stories, and listen to others with the vision to create a world where every story is valued. More info.

5. Sauniphos
Sisyphos hosts a full sauna program with infusions, tubs, workshops, music, performances, massages, food and drinks. The main event runs for twenty hours and allows re-entry at any time with a valid ticket. A FLINTA* sauna will be available in a separate lounge area with an emphasis on mutual respect. Earlier in the day, the venue opens its doors to families for a shorter session designed for children aged four and above. More info.

7. A Techno Ballet Odyssey
A Techno Ballet Odyssey brings together a staged ballet program and a full club night in one continuous event. The evening begins with a DJ set that sets the mood before a 70-minute performance by the Berlin Ballet Company unfolds in the center of the crowd and across three stages. The piece follows a character moving through the night in search of direction, conveyed through classical ballet technique, projected visuals and a live techno score by Marko Nastić. This is a neighborhood brunch spot where people often line up on weekends. They do not take online reservations, but there are a few larger tables for groups. The food is consistently solid, the portions are generous and the menu is straightforward. They are very generous with avocado, both in the smash and even when ordering extra. Gluten-free options are available, and the coffee is reliably good. Prices are a bit higher than the usual brunch place, which likely comes down to the location rather than the portion size or quality. The crowd is a mix of locals and tourists, so you hear many languages while you eat.
