This chance meeting led to the creation of the globally touring drum duo, "Fills Monkey". With boundless energy, humor, and a touch of poetry, these two performers amaze their audiences, leaving a lasting impact on both minds and hearts. Their extraordinary show bridges the acoustic traditions of the past and the digital possibilities of the future, blending a diverse range of musical genres from rock to heavy metal, jazz, classical, Latino, and electro in an unforgettable performance titled "We Will Drum You!". Joining her is Anja Woot, hailing from Slovenia, who weaves personal stories with a quirky twist and a dark sense of humor, ensuring both laughter and intrigue. The lineup also includes Carmen Chraim, a Lebanese native whose high-energy presence and quick-witted anecdotes, flavored with her Middle Eastern background and unique perspectives, promise an engaging and humorous performance. 5. HopeMe - Performance
Performance artist Anna Anderegg brings her award-winning production, "HopeMe," from Seoul to Berlin for a limited audience at Mahalla. This one-hour performance, previously showcased in Seoul, delves into societal notions of female beauty and self-representation in the digital space, exploring the phenomenon of aspiring to a more attractive body seen on social media. "HopeMe" transforms the concept of "beauty" into a performative act within the digital realm, raising questions about emerging social ideals and their challenges. Anna Anderegg and her team drew inspiration from self-optimization and fitness apps, which celebrate particular beauty standards, for the development of "HopeMe". More info.
