2. 17 Years Renate - 60 Hours Birthday Party
Renate's story began in 2007 when a group of creatives found an old, rundown building in the former East Berlin. In the spirit of the post-reunification years, the space quickly became multifunctional, with storage areas, shelters, and workshops transforming into living spaces, art venues, and party zones. This sense of togetherness has been central to Renate for nearly 17 years, making it one of the oldest clubs in Berlin. More info.
βWith the possibility that Renate may close in 2025, now is the time to experience this iconic Berlin club while you still can.

3. Musical Belongings IV
For this event, the legendary Pen Cayetano and his Turtle Shell Band, representatives of the GarΓfuna culture from Belize and pioneers of Punta Rock, are invited to perform at the Humboldt Forum. The event also includes the ballad opera "Polly," written in 1729. Set in the Caribbean, the opera portrays characters from 18th-century London alongside pirates and indigenous figures. This performance combines the operaβs story with original Caribbean music, focusing on Punta, a rhythm and dance form practiced by the GarΓfuna people across Central America. More info.

4. Dream OnβBerlin, the 90s - Photography
In the 1990s, Berlin was a city in transition, navigating the aftermath of the Berlin Wall's fall and its uncertain future. Optimism mixed with uncertainty, while subcultures and temporary initiatives flourished, shaping the city's evolving identity. During this time, the OSTKREUZ photo agency was founded in East Berlin by photographers from the former East Germany. Now internationally recognized, OSTKREUZ documented the societal shifts and challenges of reunification. C/O Berlin showcases the work of nine agency members, offering insight into the transformations that have left a lasting mark on the city. More info.

Restaurant Review:
Charme Thai Bistro Cafe - Pberg (β4.5/5)
A great neighborhood spot for Thai food. The ingredients are fresh, and the duck is perfectly crispy without being too chewy or fatty. The staff is friendly, and the prices are affordable, leaning toward the cheaper side. They also offer a range of Thai noodle soups, which we tried on a return visitβjust as good as the rest of the menu (the papaya salad and summer rolls were not as good as the other dishes!)
